The DGLFF is proud to announce our Opening Night film on Friday 19 August 2016 at 8pm will be Matt Riddlehoover’s latest gay romantic comedy “WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH GERALD”. Billed as “Gay cinema’s answer to Woody Allen!” ( and “One of today’s best gay filmmakers!” (The Advocate), Matt’s film “Paternity Leave” was a huge hit at last year’s DGLFF.

About the film:
Gerald (Jacob York), a semi-alcoholic, thirty-something trust fund baby, wakes up every morning in some sort of pain. He’s tried every medical fix he can think of, including acupuncture and reflexology. When he’s referred to an eccentric jeweler (Kathy Cash) – much to the chagrin of his very practical partner, Charles (Jonathan Everett) – Gerald soon discovers he’s in for a whole lot more than retail therapy. With a touch of magic, the jeweler’s gemstones help Gerald ease the pain, navigating through a complete reexamination of his life… in completely unexpected ways.

Tickets for the Opening Night cost R80 each and include a complimentary TRANQUINI soft drink. Please email or call 0781895430 to reserve your seat BEFORE THEY’RE ALL SOLD OUT 🙂
