Much anticipated festival ever, finally took place in various venues such as Durban International convention Centre, Exhibition Centre, Ohlange Sports ground. A week-long festival came to a close on Sunday at Moses Mabhida Stadium with a gospel concert, featuring some of the world’s biggest stars, such as Fragile Heart singer Yolanda Adams; Hip Hop gospel Duo, Mary-Mary and our own Umlazi’s Ntokozo Mbambo to mention just a few.
It wasn’t only about glitz and glam, but business took centre stage with Durban’s SMME showcase which really positioned the city as a global player. The festival spread itself between Technology, Art, Culture beauty and style – Durban fashion fair invited different experts to a panel discussion with South Africa’s top beauty practitioners from fashion magazine house to models and makeup artists. The panel discussion had high profile guest speakers from top Women’s Wear designer (ZARTH) Zama Mathe, to People Magazine Fashion Editor, Suzy Mukendi; American businesswoman and fashion designer, Tina Lawson, known for her House of Deréon and Miss Tina by Tina Knowles (Beyonces mom) who described what Women, Style & Beauty meant to be. The discussion was facilitated by Mthokozisi Chiyi from uKhozi FM. Design Essentials from the USA did a fantastic hair demonstration on Spring and Summer trends.
The week’s activities, was rounded off with the Durban Fashion Fairs, fashion show that not only highlighted our local designers, but also introduced Sister City Lagos Nigerian designers Alaba Adegoke of HUNT COUTURE as well as Victoria Awodi of V’Okesillusion – which sure added an exciting international flavour.
Spotted looking sexy as always was Lwandle Ngwenya Face of Jockey S.A, and Miss South Africa top ten Finalist, stressing about her cold sore. Hhayi shame kunzima ukuba I model.
Durban must really start applauding Fashion Model Leon Payne and Gagasi FMs gossip contributor Lwazi Diva Caddacci, for marking their names on almost every Durban event. Diva Caddachi looked gorgeous as always, ezilile in a black dress accessorised with colourful beads. Sisi, uyikhumula nini inzila? uniqmagazinesa readers want to know. Or is it a David Tlale trend.
